Tetec AG to erect new building in Reutlingen
Tetec AG, a leader in regenerative medicine, is building a new facility in Reutlingen/Kusterdingen in which Aesculap AG is the only investor. This construction represents a major progress for the "Medical technology and health Tuttlingen/Neckar-Alb" top cluster.

Tetec AG is writing a new chapter in its company history. On the 10th January 2008, the foundation stone for the Reutlingen-based biotech specialist’s new facility was laid. In the first phase of construction, a 1,300 square metre production facility will be erected, covering an area of approximately 5,900 square metres in Reutlingen/Kusterdingen and it will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical and clean room technology. The office space will occupy an area of 530 m².
The modern building concept developed by Koppenhöfer and Partner in Stuttgart, foresees the modular expandability of the individual functional areas in order to enable the company to grow along with demand without having to halt production. The planning is being done in close cooperation with the city of Reutlingen and the district council of Tübingen. It is estimated that the building will be ready in Autumn 2008.

The laying of the foundation stone on 10th January is not only of importance for Tetec AG. “The laying of the foundation stone is a milestone for the development of the “Medical technology and health” top cluster located in the medcare-tech region comprising the cities of Tuttlingen, Hechingen, Tübingen, Reutlingen and Stuttgart,” said Dr. Ralf Kindervater, CEO of BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg GmbH which initiated the top cluster for the Top Cluster Competition of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Kindervater regards Tetec’s building project as an affirmation of the top cluster concept: “This shows that the regional players, i.e. the regional authorities, companies and investors, have a good level of cooperation and that the cluster structures work well,” emphasizes Kindervater.
