At this year’s general meeting of the German Society for Regenerative Medicine (GRM), Prof. Dr. Guido Nikkhah, Medical Director of the Department of Stereotactic Neurosurgery at the Neurocentre of the Freiburg University Medical Centre, was unanimously elected new scientific spokesperson of the GRM.
The German Society for Regenerative Medicine has taken on the task of establishing the field of regenerative medicine - including areas such as stem cell research and tissue engineering - as a public awareness issue. The GRM strongly believes that regenerative medicine is an innovative field of modern medicine with a promising future. The majority of the GRM's members are research institutions and biotechnology companies. Its key activities include the representation of interests in the legislative process, the coordination of public relations work and campaigns as well as the organisation of political and scientific events.
Professor Nikkhah's work focuses mainly on the field of stereotactic, functional and restorative neurosurgery, in particular deep-brain stimulation, neurotransplantation and navigation.
