IoLiTec is an award-winning, dynamic, innovative and goal-oriented company whose activities go far beyond the production and sale of ionic liquids. In addition to a steadily growing standard product range of currently about 50 selected ionic liquids for various applications (e.g. synthesis, catalysis, analytics, electroplating, heat and refrigeration engineering, biotechnology, sensor technology) and more than 20 key intermediates that are available in gram quantities but also on a multikilogram scale, we have always put a strong focus on R&D services and custom syntheses in the field of ionic liquids and offer to our customers analytical and consulting services, feasibility studies as well as the development of marketable products and applications based on ionic liquids. Our goal is to close the gap between fundamental research and application-oriented development of commercial products.
For biotechnological processes we offer a range of biocompatible ionic liquids as reaction and extraction media. We have developed a method for the purification and crystallisation of proteins and are currently in the process of identifying and developing further applications of ionic liquids in the field of biotechnology and biocatalysis.
We are also actively pursuing the development of sensors based on ionic liquids for the detection of the greenhouse gas Kohlenstoffdioxid and other pollutants, air humidity and explosives (IoLiSens® technology). Other applications include the use of ionic liquids as low-toxicity, non-flammable thermal fluids for heat transport and storage (IoLiTherm® technology), as electrolytes for electroplating processes, e.g. for the anti-corrosion coating of steel with aluminium (IoLiLyte® technology), or as additives in cleaning products (IoLiTive® technology).
