Furtwangen University is expanding its range of continuing education courses in medical technology.
HFU already offers established continuing education programs in the field of medical technology at the Tuttlingen campus, including the “Medical Technology - Regulatory Affairs” master's degree programme and the part-time “Medical Device and Healthcare Management” MBA programme. The new project will now significantly expand this offer.
Attractive further education for companies and employees
The project focuses on new, practical formats of academic continuing education for companies and their employees. The programmes are part-time, compact and rely on modern learning formats such as blended learning. In terms of content, they focus on key technologies and current challenges in medical technology, such as:
- Artificial intelligence
- Virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR)
- cyber security
- simulation
- Innovative materials
- Usability and user experience (UX)
- Approval and regulatory requirements
Tailor-made programmes are also created for companies that specifically address individual training needs.
Dialogue with practice
A central concern of the project is the close exchange with regional companies and representatives of professional practice. From 2025 to 2028, the aim is to create programmes that combine high scientific quality with practical relevance and offer tangible added value for the medical technology industry.
With its modern infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories, the Tuttlingen campus offers ideal conditions for implementing the project.
With “HFU Skills4MedTec”, Furtwangen University is underlining its claim to actively shape innovation, teaching and transfer in medical technology − and to make a sustainable contribution to securing skilled workers and the competitiveness of the industry.
