The Hohenstein Institutes were founded in 1946 and today make up an internationally recognised research and service centre. Four independent organisations operate under the umbrella of the Hohenstein Institute: Hohenstein Laboratories GmbH & Co. KG, Hohenstein Textile Testing Institute GmbH & Co. KG, Hohenstein Academy e.V. as well as the Hohenstein Institute for Textile Innovation. The latter one opens up new market segments for the entire textile industry thanks to its application-based research and development of innovative products and processes. A team of highly qualified and committed people work to improve textile products and services. At the same time, customers have the quality and properties of their textile products tested and evaluated by the Hohenstein specialists. Companies and businesses all along the textile chain as well as in numerous other areas like medicine, electronis, or microsystem technology benefit from the skills of the Hohenstein experts.
