Call for Expression of Interest until 31st of July, 2025

PRECISEU is an EU project aimed at accelerating the development of personalized healthcare, particularly in the field of novel therapies. Within this framework, four Joint Interregional Projects will officially launch in 2026 and run for three years. These projects offer opportunities for mentoring and individual support, matchmaking for the formation of project consortia, Europe-wide collaboration, as well as preparation for the PRECISEU funding call. Currently, the call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) is open — a non-binding invitation for interested parties to participate with their project ideas and products in order to contribute to the Joint International Projects. The application deadline is July 31st, 2025.

Scientists at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) have now shown that liver cancer cells in mice and humans depend on a key enzyme of glycolysis, Aldolase A. When it is switched off, glycolysis reverses from an energy-producing to an energy-consuming process.

    Dr. Petr Chlanda, virologist and research group leader at the Heidelberg Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University, has been awarded more than 720,000 euros in funding from the European Union for his research into new therapies against viruses. His work is part of the interdisciplinary, international DEFENDER project, which is developing innovative approaches to combat emerging and re-emerging viruses.
